The Jr. Thunderbolts struggled against the Capitals 6-2 in home game

The Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts struggled against the Atlanta Capitals allowing Michael Klintworth to score a hat trick as Evansville crushed Atlanta 6-2 in a home game at Swonder Ice Arena in Evansville. The Atlanta Capitals took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Michael Klintworth.

Cole Warner contributed with 3 assists and Tanner Opie chipped in with 2 assists.

In the first, Cody opened the scoring for the Jr. Thunderbolts with a goal at 2:42 with helpers from his linemates, Alvegran and Heppner. Klintworth answered for Atlanta with a goal at 8:44 with a helper from fellow Capitals forward Medure. Medure put in a goal at 19:40 with assists from his teammates Opie and Carlo.

In the second, Scott answered for the Jr. Thunderbolts with a goal at 10:23. Klintworth answered for Atlanta with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 13:05 with helpers from his linemates, Warner and Medure.

In the third, Smith scored a goal at 10:15 with assists from Walker and Opie. Klintworth quickly followed with a goal at 10:28 with helpers from his linemates, Medure and Warner. Gustin deposited a goal at 17:49 with assists from Warner and Carlo.

This loss brings the Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts’ record to (8-33-1-0).
