The Jr. Thunderbolts struggled against the Ducks 9-1 in home game

The Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts struggled against the Point Mallard Ducks allowing Jesse Stepp to score a hat trick as Evansville crushed the Ducks 9-1 in a home game at Swonder Ice Arena in Evansville. The Point Mallard Ducks took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Jarett Green and never looked back.

Jason Kelly had a busy night with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Matt Goodman did his part, adding 2 goals.

During the first period, Kelly opened the scoring for the Ducks with a goal at 6:42 with helpers from teammates Green and Udris. Green put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 12:51 with assists from Kelly and Udris. Stepp deposited a goal at 16:07 with a helper from defenseman Udris. Rozema quickly followed with a goal at 16:47.

During the second, Trombly answered for the Ducks with a goal at 1:25. Stepp quickly followed with a goal at 3:00 with an assist from Chun. Goodman netted a goal at 10:59 with helpers from Trombly and Kendall. Kelly put in a goal at 13:26 with assists from his linemates, Stepp and Chun. Goodman deposited a goal at 17:48 with helpers from Laplante and Kendall.

In the third, Stepp scored a goal at 9:41 with an assist from defenseman Udris.

This loss brings the Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts’ record to (8-28-1-0).
