The Jr. Thunderbolts struggled against the RiverWolves 8-4 in home game

The Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts struggled against the Wausau RiverWolves allowing Ryan Hempel to score a hat trick as Evansville crushed Wausau 8-4 in a home game at Swonder Ice Arena in Evansville. Besides, the Jr. Thunderbolts' defense had a poor night, allowing the RiverWolves 43 shots throughout the game. The Wausau RiverWolves took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Ryan Hempel.

Kyle Kowalski contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Sean Johnston chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Michael Alfonso had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists).

During the first period, Alfonso opened the scoring for Wausau with a goal at 2:38 with helpers from his linemates, Irwin and Hempel. Hannebrink answered for the Jr. Thunderbolts with a goal at 7:16 with helpers from his teammates Kowalski and Luke. In the third period, Hempel netted a goal at 2:46 with helpers from his linemates, Irwin and Alfonso. Brown deposited a goal at 14:49 with an assist from Alfonso. Kifer answered for the Jr. Thunderbolts with a goal at 16:59 with helpers from his linemates, Hoon and Heppner. Bocianoski quickly followed with a goal at 17:16.
