First-Ever Tryout Camp is Set to Open This Weekend at Swonder

EVANSVILLE, IN—T he Evansville ThunderBolts, new members of the elite junior hockey league, the NA3HL, will be conducting their first-ever open Tryout Camp this weekend at their hockey home of Swonder Ice Arena.


Under the direction of ThunderBolts’ General Manager/Head Coach Scott Fankhouser, the first Tryout Camp in franchise history will have an active, ambitious schedule consisting of twice daily sessions on both Saturday, August 15th and Sunday, August 16th.

On Saturday, August 15th, the two-a-day workouts are slated for 11:30 am to 12:30 am and, again, in the evening from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

This Sunday, August 16th on-ice auditions are on the agenda in the early morning from 8:00 am to 9:00 am and later from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm.

Player registration will take place, beginning at 9:30 am on Saturday, also at Swonder Ice Arena.

All ThunderBolts Tryout Camp sessions are open free to the public and all Evansville hockey fans are encouraged to attend to welcome the Tri-State community’s newly-minted, debuting hockey team.

The ThunderBolts Tryout Camp presents a great opportunity for players to earn a roster spot on Evansville’s fledgling elite junior hockey league team.

Once the ‘Bolts Tryout Camp is concluded, GM/Coach Fankhouser will sound his whistle to mark the official opening of the team’s NA3HL Training Camp which is scheduled to launch the week of August 17th, also at Swonder Ice Arena.
