EVANSVILLE, IN— Preparing earnestly for their formal unveiling as a bona fide franchise in the elite junior hockey league, the NA3HL, the debuting Evansville ThunderBolts have attained yet another major achievement in their player roster formation for the rapidly-approaching 2015-16 hockey season.
On this date, ThunderBolts General Manager/Head Coach Scott Fankhouser has announced that Evansville has secured stellar stalwart defenseman TRISTON THERIOT for his club’s maiden voyage campaign. THERIOT (tair-OH), 18, is expected to emerge as one of the truly premiere defensemen and overall top players in the junior circuit.
The 5-11, 170lb right-hand shooting blue line ace of the place will be arriving into our town with a veritable cache of star-studded credentials certain to elevate Coach Fankhouser’s blue line brigade. Becoming the latest young, developing hockey standout from our State of Indiana, by way of Fort Wayne, THERIOT has seen significant action with the Indiana Jr. Ice program with both NAPHL 16U and HPHL 16U. Last season, in 2014-15, the American-bred excelled at the Midget AAA level with the Soo Indians 18U AAA. In 59-games with the “Tribe,” he registered 15-points on 4-goals, 11-assists while adding 14-PIM. The ThunderBolts newest defenseman has also performed under the banner of the NAPHL with the Phoenix Firebirds, back in 2012-13.
Coach Fankhouser could not mask his expression of excitement in landing the outstanding talent in further fortifying his team’s lineup. “I am very excited to add Triston to our ThunderBolts’ family. He will be an impact player on the back end and give us scoring punch. Triston is a fantastic skater and puck mover that every team is looking for. We are lucky to have a player of Triston’s ability and look forward to helping him achieve his goals of moving up the hockey ladder. Off the ice, Triston is an animal and I am looking for that desire to spread throughout the locker room. Triston is from Fort Wayne and the ‘Bolts are proud to add another Indiana player to our mix and look forward to help build an organization around the development of these players.”
TRISTON THERIOT will be on the ice at the ThunderBolts home of Swonder Ice Arena when the team’s inaugural training camp opens the week of August 17th. Under the watchful, discerning eye of Coach Fankhouser, the ThunderBolts organization will conduct a short Tryout Camp, Saturday, August 15th from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Swonder. ‘Bolts Season Tickets for 22-games, only $70!
